Elks Take Vets Out To The Ball Game
June 24, 2017
Bridgeport Elks Lodge #714 took multiple Veterans from Spring City VA Hospital out to Reading, PA for America’s favorite past time, Baseball. The stadium attendees honored the Veterans with a thunderous standing ovation for their years of military service. Following the game the Veterans were treated with a fireworks show spectacular. The Elks organization was founded in 1868 on one of its core principles of helping Veterans after the Civil War. “As long as there are Veterans, The Elks will never forget!” has been the moto of the Elks National Veterans Committee since its conception. Bridgeport Elks lodge along with it’s fellow lodges from its district make monthly visits to the local VA Hospitals in Spring City, Downingtown and Philadelphia.
